Community greenhouse in Húsavík is one of three case studies that were launched in connection with the international research project Crowdthermal. Eimur is a part of the project and the main task of Eimur is to develop and form a business and residual modelk for the community greenhouse.

Húsavík is a suitable place for a greenhouse where accessibility to electricity, hot water and cold water is good. The aim of the case study is to promote better utilization of geothermal and increase the sustainability of local communities when it to food production. The case study can also stimulate innovation and new job opportunities. 

The dream is that the community greenhouse will shed light on the possibilities on growing crops in greenhouses and as well encouraging innovation in industries that include local resources.
